 Prior to obtaining my real estate license, I was involved in real estate technology and marketing. I assisted over 650 agents with marketing that resulted in thousands of home sales! I was shocked at the poor skill level and unwillingness of agents to expand their services to best represent their clients. I continue to be shocked at how little MN Realtors do to sell their client's homes, and what poor service home buyers and sellers generally receive.
When I read the statistics that the average number of transactions per MN agent was 1.5 homes/year, I knew the folks in the Twin Cities deserved something better. There just aren't enough competent, ethical Realtors out there! That’s how Jim Berg Realty began. I was immediately drawn to a team atmosphere because it allows several people to bring their best skills to the table, provide added service to our clients, and help share in combined success. However, in analyzing the ‘team concept’ I discovered that for most agencies it is a joke!
Even at the brokerage level (Big Red & Big Blue for example) there is an alarming rate of agent turnover... because they do absolutely nothing for the agents. The goal is to get as many Realtors on board, milk them for what they can get, and let them burn out and wither on the vine.
